MINISTRIES
Liturgical Ministries Ministry Schedules Visiting the Sick St. Vincent de Paul
Our parishioners bring varied talents to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs to help meet the needs of the people
of our parish and the larger community. You are invited to contribute your talents by participating in our
existing ministries or suggesting additional ways in which you can be of service.
Liturgical Ministries
Altar Servers
Young people from Grade 4 through High School assist the priest at all weekend and special liturgies.
Training is provided. A request for new servers is published in the bulletin at the beginning of each school
year, but interested young people are also encouraged to speak to the pastor at any time about this opportunity.
Adult servers assist at weekday Masses as well as funerals.
Greeters/Collectors
Our ministry of hospitality is enhanced at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs by Greeters who welcome fellow
parishioners as they arrive at weekend Mass, distribute bulletins and take up the Offertory Collection.
Lectors
Men and women, from high school students to senior citizens, proclaim the Word of the Lord at weekend
and weekday Masses. Confident public speakers with a good command of the language are encouraged
to consider this ministry. A guidebook is provided to assist in preparing to proclaim the assigned
readings at each Mass.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Ministers of Holy Communion who assist the priest at scheduled Masses are individuals who are
invited by the Pastor to this ministry. Instruction is provided.
Music
Our Lady Queen of Martyrs is fortunate to have several different opportunities for parishioners
with musical talents. We have an adult choir, children's choir, organists and cantors.
Every weekend liturgy features music and congregational singing. Requests for choir members
and musicians are published throughout the year in the bulletin.
Anyone interested in participating in the Choir may call Jo-Anne at 774-991-1898.

Visitation of the Sick
Several parishioners currently visit parishioners who are unable to attend weekly Mass. These visits
normally include bringing Holy Communion, a copy of the weekly bulletin and any other parish information.
Please notify the Parish Office at 508-399-8440 of any parishioner unable to attend Mass due to
illness, age or handicap. Arrangements will be made for regular visits.
Saint Vincent de Paul
The St. Vincent DePaul Society helps individuals and families in need of assistance with necessities of life such as
food and housing. Those in need of an emergency food delivery, help paying a utility bill or someone to assist in any
way may contact the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs St. Vincent de Paul Conference.

Collections at several Holy Day Masses throughout the year as well as regular food collections are ways that
parishioners support the works of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in our parish.
The St. Vincent de Paul Conference is part of a Greater Attleboro, Diocese of Fall River and international
organization of lay Catholic women and men inspired by Gospel values who offer person-to-person service
to those in need. Members, acting in the tradition of their founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and their patron,
St. Vincent de Paul, witness God's love by embracing works of charity and justice.
Vincentians at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs collaborate with other people of good will in relieving need and
addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the
Face of Christ.
